HERS Rating Specialist is a Massachusetts-based energy consulting firm helping homebuilders, architects, developers, and homeowners build homes that are more efficient, more comfortable, and fully code-compliant — while capturing every Mass Save® incentive dollar along the way.

Our Story

What began as a small team of energy-minded building professionals has grown into one of Massachusetts’ most experienced HERS rating companies. Over the past three decades, the codes changed, the technology changed, and the bar for what makes a “good” home kept rising — and through all of it, our focus never moved: help our clients build better buildings and get rewarded for it.

Today our RESNET-certified raters and field inspectors have completed more than 12,500 HERS Ratings across the Commonwealth, from single-family homes and ADUs to large multifamily developments. We’ve seen Massachusetts move from the earliest Stretch Code all the way to today’s Specialized Opt-in Code, and that front-row experience is exactly what we bring to every project — so builders aren’t guessing at compliance, and homeowners aren’t leaving incentive money on the table.

• Energy Code Compliance — guidance through the Base, Stretch, and Specialized codes (2021 IECC), including REScheck and ComCheck reports.
